1 dead, 1 hospitalized after shooting on Indianapolis' northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS — One person was killed and another was hospitalized Sunday night after a shooting on Indianapolis' northeast side.

The shooting happened in the 6000 block of Williamsburg Court at about 9:15 p.m. Moments after the first report, officers were also dispatched to the parking lot of a White Castle near the intersection of 38th Street and Shadeland Avenue on another person shot. 

It is suspected that both people were shot in the 6000 block of Williamsburg Court, according to a spokesperson with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. 

The man found on Williamsburg Court was pronounced dead at the scene. The man found in the parking lot was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
