INDIANAPOLIS — A man was killed when a police chase ended in a crash late Monday night on the south side of Indianapolis, according to police.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers tried to pull over the driver of a stolen pick-up truck on Shelby Street near Garfield Park, according to IMPD. The driver, a man, sped up, lost control and rolled the truck several times into a ditch in the 4500 block of Madison Avenue, near Interstate 465.
The man was trapped underneath the truck and died, according to IMPD.
An investigation is underway to ensure the department's pursuit policies were followed, according to IMPD.
No other injuries were reported.
