15-year-old dies after northeast-side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS -- A 15-year-old was shot and killed early Saturday morning on Indianapolis' northeast side. 

The shooting happened near the intersection of Penway Street and Tiffany Drive around 12:30 a.m. 

When police arrived, they found 15-year-old Kevin Rainey in the street with at least one gunshot wound. Rainey was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, where he died.

An IMPD release states: 

At the moment detectives have very little information to provide suspect information. Detectives are hopeful that those that knew the victim can provide more insight into what may have occurred.
