LAWRENCE, Ind. -- Two men were arrested Tuesday morning after a police chase and crash in Lawrence, Indiana.
Lawrence police officers were on alert after Indianapolis officers responded to a report of shots fired near the intersection of 42nd Street and Post Road, near Lawrence.
Police were told the suspect's car was red with a broken window. Officers noticed a similar car on 42nd Street near Franklin Road.
The car took off, crashing into another vehicle at the intersection.
Police used a K-9 to catch the driver as he tried to run away, Gary Woodruff, the deputy chief of the Lawrence Police Department, said.
The suspect was taken to the hospital to be treated for a dog bite. He was wanted on an open warrant of possession of a handgun by a felon. A passenger of the car was wanted on a theft warrant. A woman in the car with them was questioned at the scene, then released.
