VERMILLION COUNTY — An elementary school health aide in western Indiana faces theft charges after she allegedly stole prescription medication from a student in May.
Lydia A. Stevens, 40, Terre Haute, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of theft and possession of a controlled substance, according to a release from Indiana State Police.
The South Vermillion School Corporation contacted state police on May 16 regarding possible prescription drug theft at Van Duyn Elementary School.
During the investigation, Detective Michael Feathering learned Stevens allegedly stole the medicine from a student.
Stevens was transported Thursday to the Vermillion County Jail.
