Four arrested in connection with deadly shooting in Kokomo

KOKOMO — Police in Kokomo have arrested four people in connection with a shooting that left a 37-year-old man dead in January.

On Jan. 30, police were called to the Brairwick Apartments were the located Christopher Lee Maggart, who had been shot in the chest.

Howard County Coroner Steve Seele said Maggart's death was a homicide.

After an investigation by Kokomo Police Deparment, the following people were arrested on warrants in connection with the shooting, Capt. Tonda Cockrell said in a press release:

  • Amanda Jean Johnson, 39, Kokomo, was arrested on warrants for obstruction of justice and altering the scene of death.
  • Dezren Glenn, 18, of Kokomo, was arrested on warrants for murder, obstruction of justice, and altering the scene of a death.
  • Arienne Beard, 24, of Kokomo, was arrested on warrants for obstruction of justice and assisting a criminal.
  • Michelet Joseph, 24, of Kokomo, was arrested on warrants for assiting a criminal, obstruction of justice and altering the scene of a death.

More arrests are forthcoming and detectives continue to investigate, Cockrell said.
