Four people, all believed to be homeless, dead after apparent attack in New York City

NEW YORK — Police in New York City are investigating after four people were killed and one person was critically injured, all of which are believed to be homeless, early Saturday morning.

New York Police Department officers were called around 2:10 a.m. to an area in Chinatown, and found one man dead and another critically injured, according to police.

Around 4: 15 a.m., police were called to another nearby scene and located three people who were dead when they arrived.

One person was taken into custody in connection with the incident. He was found with a metal pipe or post.

All of the victims and the suspect are believed to be homeless, according to police.

After the incident, officers in the areas are checking in on other homeless people.
