HAGERSTOWN — A teacher at Hagerstown Jr./Sr. High School was recently charged with a sex related crime after several alleged incidents involving a female student.

A Hagerstown Police Department officer began to investigate William Drake in Feburary after a 14-year-old girl, a student of Drake's, told school officials about "unwanted sexual contact" from Drake, according to a probable cause affidavit. Drake is listed in an online staff list as a science, physical education and health teacher.

Police allege Drake touched the survivor in a sexual manner on more than one occasion, according to the affidavit.

Drake was charged with the suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony, according to the affidavit. He has not yet been booked into the jail, according to the Wayne County Jail.

During an interview with police in April, Drake allegedly told officers he did not make any physical contact with the survivor and denied the allegations, according to the affidavit.

RTV6 has reached out to officials at the school by e-mail for a comment on this story and are awaiting a response.
