IMPD investigating fatal shooting on northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — A person died Wednesday evening following a shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

An adult male was shot in a vehicle around 5:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of W. 23rd St., according to information from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. He was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition and later died.

IMPD said detectives do not believe the shooting is related to two others that occurred Wednesday. A person is listed in stable condition after a shooting in the 2700 block of E. Michigan St., while another person was shot and walked into Community East Hospital in stable condition.
