INDIANAPOLIS — No injuries were reported after a man shot at Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers Saturday morning and officers did not return fire, according to a press release from IMPD.
Officers were called around 8 a.m. Saturday to the 2300 block of Fescue Place, on the report of a domestic disturbance between a mother and her adult son, according to the release. The man fired a shot at officers from a firearm before running away. Officers did not return fire and later found a firearm at the scene.
The man was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail, according to the release. Preliminary charges have not been announced and formal charges have not yet been filed by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, according to the release.
The identities of the officers and man involved in the incident have not been released.
IMPD homicide detectives, who are apart of the department's Critical Incident Response Team, are investigating the incident, according to the release. This is standard procedure in all incidents where shots are fired at IMPD officers.
