INDIANAPOLIS — Officers responding to a possible shooting on Indianapolis' east side located a person suffering from unknown injuries.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were initially called to the 2000 block of East Washington Street around 6:30 p.m. on Mar. 5 for a report of a person shot.
Responding officers located a victim suffering unknown injuries. They were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
It was later determined that the victim had not been shot, although the exact cause of their injuries remains unknown at this time.
"The victim did sustain an injury and has been upgraded to stable condition," the updated report from IMPD stated.
It is still unclear what led to the initial call and if any other people were involved.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that happened on the near eastside of Indianapolis Monday afternoon.
