VIGO COUNTY — An Indianapolis man was arrested after kidnapping a four-year-old family member Wednesday in Ohio, according to Indiana State Police.

The 37-year-old also had an arrest warrant in Marion County for an unrelated kidnapping of another child, ISP Sgt. Matt Ames said in a press release.

The warrant, filed in April 2018 in Marion County, is for two counts of kidnapping where victim is less than 14-years-old, two counts of kidnapping where committed by using a vehicle, and one count of intimidation where threat is to commit forcible felony, according to online court records.

The four-year-old girl was taken around 8:20 p.m. from outside her home in Whitehall, Ohio, about 10 miles east of Columbus, Ohio, Ames said.

Indiana State Police troopers later located the man's vehicle on Interstate 70 in Vigo County and found the girl unharmed inside, Ames said.

ISP troopers are assisting the Whitehall Police Department with the ongoing investigation, Ames said.
