LAFAYETTE — Police in Lafayette are investigating after a dispute led to shots fired early Saturday morning on the city's south west side.
Lafayette Police Department officers were called just before 2:30 a.m. to Romney Meadows Apartment Homes on the report of shots fired, LPD Sgt. Michael Brown said.
The shots were fired after a disagreement between two groups of people, Brown said. Shots were fired toward a group standing by a nearby bus stop, which caused damage to the glass pane of the stop and a vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Detectives are actively investigating and gathering information on possible witnesses, Brown said.
