Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as John T. Doe.

According to a release, investigators believe an altercation began inside the business, then spilled outside, leading to the shooting. The suspect in the shooting remained at the scene. That person was brought into police custody.

Police are classifying it as a death investigation.

The strip club is owned by Jeffrey Moe, the man charged with attacking City-County Councilman Jeff Miller this month. After the attack, Moe told police, “Yes, I cleaned his clock and I’ll do it again.” Moe reportedly further stated Miller was a child molester and that Miller had tried to “end his business and slander his family name.”

Miller was charged in November with three counts of child molestation after a 10-year-old girl claimed he had massaged her and made her feel uncomfortable on multiple occasions. He is still awaiting trial in that case.
