One dead, one injured in early morning shooting on Indianapolis' north side

INDIANAPOLIS — A person was shot and killed and another was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning on the north side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called around 1 a.m. to the 2400 block of Beckwith Drive, near East 25th Street and Hillside Avenue, on the report of a person shot, IMPD Sgt. Grace Sibley said in a press release. When they arrived, officers found one person who had been shot. They were taken to an Indianapolis hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Around 1:45 a.m., a person died after going to an Indianapolis hospital after being shot, Sibley said. Investigators believe they were shot at the north side location.

At this time, the identities of the victims or any possible suspects have not been released.
