Two shootings under investigation on Indianapolis' south side

INDIANAPOLIS — Two shootings are under investigation Sunday evening on the south side of Indianapolis, according to police.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called to investigate the first shooting around 5:10 p.m. near South Meridian Street and Meridian School Road.

Officers found a person with at least one apparent gunshot wound when they arrived, IMPD Sgt. Grace Sibley said in an email.

Around 5:25 p.m., officers found another person with at least one apparent gunshot wound in the 4100 block of Burkhart Drive, near South Meridian Street and East Hanna Avenue, Sibley said. They are also in serious condition.

It's not yet clear if they are related.
