TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute police are investigating a shooting Wednesday morning near the Indiana State University campus.
In a message to the campus community, Indiana State President Deborah J. Curtis said the shooting occurred at Highland Quarters, a student apartment complex. Students have been told to avoid the south side of campus.
The victim's condition has not been released.
Police are looking for a suspect who is described as a Black male who is 6-feet-1-inches tall and wearing a gray sweatshirt with a black stripe.
The Vigo County School Corporation put all schools in Terre Haute on lockout, but they have since reopened.

On Sept. 18, a freshman student was killed and two other people were wounded in a shooting at a house party near the Indiana State campus.
