17-year-old shot, killed on Indy's east side

INDIANAPOLIS – A 17-year-old was killed Tuesday afternoon in a shooting on Indianapolis’ east side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers believe the shooting happened at about 2 p.m. near the intersection of 13th and Oxford streets. 

The victim was located inside a vehicle in the 1100 block of Tecumseh Street a short time later. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Daymarko Tolefree, 17.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been released and police have not made any arrests at this time. 

The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
