Police make second arrest in case of man shot and killed near I-65

INDIANAPOLIS — Homicide investigators have made a second arrest in the case of a man found shot to death near Interstate 65 and Lafayette road on Indy's northwest side in March 2020.

According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, investigators on Wednesday identified and arrested a second person in the March 22, 2020, shooting death of D'Londre Calmes, 20.

Police said officers were called to the area of North Lafayette Road and Interstate 65 on-ramp 121 C in response to a person who said they had been shot at that location. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The man, later identified as Calmes, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Wednesday, police said a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting. WRTV is not identifying the suspect pending the filing of formal charges.

In November, police arrested Sincere Dupree, 21, in connection with the shooting. According to court records, prosecutors charged Dupree in November with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and battery by means of a deadly weapon in connection to the shooting.
