TERRE HAUTE — A suspect wanted after a woman was found dead on Christmas Day inside a storage unit in Terre Haute has turned himself in, according to the Vigo County Sheriff.

Around 3 p.m. on Dec. 25, deputies were called to a welfare check at the storage units in the 600 block of East Springhill Drive, Sheriff John Plasse said in a Facebook post.

Detectives and deputies later found Sarah Henderson, 38, of Terre Haute, dead inside one of the storage units after they received information and got a search warrant, Plasse said.

An arrest warrant for murder was issued for Phillip Atterson, 29, of Terre Haute, Plasse said. He turned himself into the Johnson County Sheriff's Office and was taken to the Vigo County Jail.
