Social media threat made against Putnam Co. schools

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. -- A social media threat was made against a Putnam County school corporation early Friday morning.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Department, police learned of an online threat against the South Putnam school district early Friday morning. The exact nature of the threat is unknown.

The person of interest in the threat was found at their residence at 8:30 Friday morning.

They were taken to the family attorney by their parents. The sheriff's department said the school corporation followed the necessary safety protocols, and no students, faculty or members of the public were in any danger. 

The information on the incident has been forwarded to the Putnam County prosecutor for further review.
