LAWRENCE — A teen was shot and killed Saturday evening near a shopping center in Lawrence.
Lawrence Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 5:30 p.m. to a restaurant in a shopping center near East 56th Street and Pendleton Pike on the report of a person shot, Deputy Chief of Police Gary Woodruff said.
A teenager died in the shooting, Woodruff said. Police believe there was an argument between two teens before the shooting. The other teen involved, and a possible suspect, remained on scene.
Jaylen Ryle, 18, of Lawrence, was arrested on the suspicion of murder, Woodruff said.
