MUNCIE — Police are investigating after two pizza delivery drivers were robbed less than two hours apart Wednesday night on the southside of Muncie.
Around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, a delivery driver attempted to deliver a pizza to a vacant house in the 1200 block of South Jefferson Street, Muncie Police Department Capt. Joe Todd said. A white man came across the street, approached the delivery driver, put his hand in his pocket like he had a gun, and left with the pizza and money.
Police were later called just after midnight Thursday to the 2300 block of South Jefferson Street after another delivery driver reported they had been robbed, Todd said.
The delivery driver was met by three black teens who told the driver they only had a $100 bill, Todd said. When the delivery driver went back to their car, the driver was punched in the eye. The teens took the pizza and left the scene.
Detectives do not believe the two robberies are connected, Todd said.
No arrests have been made in either case.
Police are asking for anyone with information to contact them at 765-747-4867.
