DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. — One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle near Muncie on Christmas Day.
Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency responders were called just before 8 p.m. to the 7700 block of East Jackson Street, near the Delaware County Highway Garage, on the report of a person lying in the roadway, according to Delaware County emergency dispatchers.
Roads in the area will be closed while accident investigators are on-scene.
At this time, it is unknown if the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian stayed on-scene.
