BATTLE GROUND, Ind. -- A benefit softball tournament will be held in July in memory of Liberty German and Abigail Williams. The girls, who were killed in February after being dropped off to go hiking near the Monon High Bridge in Delphi, both played softball in the Delphi Summer Rec program.

The bodies of Williams, 13, and German, 14, were found in a wooded area near the Delphi Historic Trail on Feb. 14. The girls were reported missing the day before by family after they didn't return from the hike.

The memorial softball tournament, hosted by Brian and Lori Knipp, will be played in Battle Ground, Indiana on July 14, 2017. Organizers hope to make it an annual event.
An entry on the event's website talks about the memory of the girls: "We feel with what we all do in the softball world, this is a way for all of us to keep these two girls' memories alive and remembered by supporting something that they loved to do in their community."
Proceeds from the Abby/Libby Memorial Tournament will be donated to the Delphi Summer Rec. Player Scholarship Fund in memory of the girls.

The reward for information leading to an arrest in the murders of Williams and German rose to more than $200,000 on Wednesday.

Former Colts punter Pat McAfee and team owner Jim Irsay donated $97,000 to the fund.

Indiana State Police have released a picture of a suspect, which was taken by Liberty on her cell phone. She also captured the man's voice saying "down the hill."  You can listen to that recording below.
