INDIANAPOLIS -- Thousands of people are taking time out of their days to give back to their community this week.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday are all Indy Do Day, days of service where people are encouraged to volunteer for the community.

If you want to participate, there is a whole directory atIndyDoDay.org, where you can register for different projects.

You can do things like help organize a clothes closet for a local school, clean up a local park, assemble food packs for kids or paint a mural.

IndyDoDay also encourages you to spread the word about your service by sharing photos, videos and stories to the group's Facebookand Twitter.

"Our goal is to inspire action in Hoosiers and get them involved in the community," said Lisa Treadwell, the co-chair of Indy Do Day.

If you want to get inspired, you can alsotake a lookat the projects already filled for the next few days.
