GREENFIELD, Ind. -- An honor student at Greenfield-Central Schools was killed early Tuesday morning in a crash in Hancock County, Indiana.
The crash happened near the intersection of State Road 9 and County Road 1000 North around 1 a.m.
A car with four people in it went off the road and hit a utility pole, killing passenger Sarah Overby, 17.
Overby was a senior at Greenfield-Central High School. She was involved in choir and was an honor student.
A crisis team was brought in to help students cope on Tuesday.
The other three people in the car, Jonathan Castillo, 20, Isreal Tutrow, 18, and Desmond Hill, 21, were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Police believe the car went off the road as it was exiting the curve. It hit a utility pole, breaking it in half. The driver is being cooperative and submitted to a voluntary chemical test.
