Fishers named one of the top 10 best places in the country for golfers to live

FISHERS, Ind. -- Besides those pesky winter months, it seems Fishers is an ideal location for those who love to golf. The city has been named one of the top 10 places in the country for golfers to live by golf.com.

The website took Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live in America” list and assessed each of them on their golf offerings. Their criteria included quality of courses within 25 miles, favorable climate, affordability and overall golfiness.

According to golf.com, golfers living in the city “feast on a buffet of outstanding, affordable public spreads at their fingertips.” The Fort, Brickyard Crossing, Prairie View, Rock Hollow and Purgatory were all ranked in the top 10 Best Courses Near you in Indiana for 2016.

And we can’t forget TopGolf, which just opened off I-69. It isn’t exactly a course but it is the perfect place to practice your swing during those winter months.

The city is no stranger to top marks, Money Magazine had named Fishers as the best place to live in America with neighbors Carmel, Avon and Greenwood close behind. It's also been named the best place to trick-or-treat and one of the safest cities to raise a kid.
