HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. -- One man was hospitalized Thursday night after a stabbing in Hamilton County, Indiana.
Deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office were called to the 300 block of W. 206th Street at about 10:20 p.m.
Deputies found a man with slash and stab wounds to various parts of his body. He was taken to a hospital by an air ambulance.
Police identified a suspect in the attack. Brian Harris, 44, slashed tires on a nearby vehicle when he was confronted, and a fight ensued, according to a release from the sheriff's office. Harris was found in a nearby wooded area and taken into custody.
He was treated at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital for a large cut on his hand before being taken to jail.
The initial call to police was for shots fired. Nobody was hit by a firearm, police say.
Harris faces the following preliminary charges:
- Criminal Mischief,
- Battery with Serious Bodily Injury,
- Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, and
- Aggravated Battery
