SHERIDAN, Ind. -- College-bound seniors at Sheridan High School had their Social Security numbers posted online last week.

According to Sheridan Superintendent Doug Miller, the students were asked to complete a survey through Google Docs. The numbers could then be accessed by any of the 39 students who took the survey.

The administrators became aware of the issue on Saturday, when they took the posting down.

Miller said the school is working with the Social Security office to get identity protection for the 39 students who were affected.

It is unclear exactly how the results were posted.
