HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. -- Hendricks Regional Health received an “A” in the Fall 2017 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. Out of Indiana’s 59 hospitals, Hendricks Regional Health is one of only 10 to receive three consecutive “A” rankings.
Before the fall of 2016, the hospital fell between a “B” and “C” grade from spring of 2014. However, since the fall of 2016, Hendricks Regional obtained an “A” grade that has remained steady.
Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade looks at five different categories: infections, problems with surgery, practices to prevent errors, safety problems, and hospital staff.
Within each category, Hendricks Regional Health preformed in the above average mark for 20 out of 25 areas looked at by Leapfrog. However, in areas the hospital was graded “below average”, Hendricks Regional still ranked near the average in comparison to other area hospitals.
According to the hospital’s Facebook page, Hendricks Regional Health attributes its “A” grade to the, “Diligent accomplishments of our associates and our collaborative approach to patient-centered care.”
