INDIANAPOLIS -- When an Indiana State Police officer pulled over a van on Interstate 74 Thursday morning, he received a pleasant and festive surprise.
Master Trooper Don Farris, of the Putnamville Post, stopped a white 2014 Dodge van for a minor traffic violation. He issued the driver, Christopher Hanson, of Indianapolis, a warning.
Hanson then asked Farris if he wanted a look at his reindeer in the back of the van. Sure enough, an adult reindeer was sitting in the van.
Hanson explained to the officer that he runs a business called Silly Safari Shows, Inc., and he was on his way to Attica, Indiana to put on a show at an elementary school.
"Pictures were taken and pleasantries were exchanged, thus enjoying the spirit of Christmas, and reminding all of us that you just never know what will transpire during a traffic stop along our highways," an ISP spokesperson said.
