INDIANAPOLIS -- Many Indiana state parks will close this week for controlled deer reductions, Indiana DNR said.
The affected parks are closed Monday and Tuesday, and open back up on Wednesday morning.
The following parks are affected:
- Chain O'Lakes
- Charlestown
- Clifty Falls
- Fort Harrison
- Harmonie
- Lincoln
- McCormick's Creek
- Ouabache
- Pokagon and Trine State Recreation Area
- Potato Creek
- Shades
- Shakamak
- Spring Mill and Cave River Valley Natural Area
- Tippecanoe River
- Versailles
- Whitewater Memorial
Only the hunters who were pre-selected in September may participate. The deer reductions help maintain natural habitat, DNR said.
