INDIANAPOLIS — Kazik, an explosives detection trained K-9 with the Indiana State Capitol Police since 2011, has retired.

Kazik, and his partner, Cpl. John Riggers, have conducted sweeps for high profile events like the Super Bowl, 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500, conferences, and several presidential visits, according to a press release from ISP. They averaged about 300 sweeps per year. Kazik will retire with the Riggers family.

Cpl. Riggers started training with Loki in February and has already conducted several sweeps, according to the release.
