INDIANAPOLIS -- Citing falling attendance numbers, Indy Parks has closed an Indianapolis gun range.
The Eagle Creek Pistol Range, located at 5820 N. High School Road, will not open for the 2016 season.
According to Linda Broadfoot, the director of Indy Parks, the number of participants dropped from 5,150 in 2012 to 793 in 2015.
"Indy Parks did everything they could to reach a mutually beneficial agreement with the range operator that would serve the best interests of taxpayers," Broadfoot said.
The range will still be open for IMPD training purposes. Broadfoot said Indy Parks will continue to look for other uses for the facility.
