Indianapolis, no stranger to violence lately, was the scene to three shootings between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
All three were separate incidents.
The first shooting happened near 21st Street and Mitthoeffer Road around midnight.
A man crashed his car into a utility pole around midnight, then went home and told his girlfriend he had been shot. Police are still trying to find out if it was a carjacking. There were shell casings at a nearby Exxon gas station.
Less than 30 minutes later, a person was shot on the city’s north side, near 86th Street and Ditch Road. One person was shot, but little information is known about the incident.
The third shooting was on the city’s east side around 3 a.m. A man was shot on the 600 block of LaSalle Street. Police say a man went to answer his door and was met by somebody holding a gun. He was taken to Eskenazi Health with a gunshot wound to the foot.
No victims have been identified, and no suspects have been arrested.
