INDIANAPOLIS — One person was killed in a crash in the backup of a separate crash on I-465 late Monday night.

The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m., in the southbound lanes of I-465 near Crawfordsville Road.

Police believe a semi was stopped on the interstate in the backup of an earlier crash when a passenger car rear-ended it at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the passenger car was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver was not injured.

Two semis, a box truck and a pickup truck were involved in the earlier crash on I-465. Four people were hospitalized in that crash.
