INDIANAPOLIS -- How clean are the sidewalks of downtown Indianapolis?

Every year, Downtown Indy looks at 370 block faces and judges their cleanliness. The area that's judged is inside of North, South, East and West streets:

This year's report? Pretty good, yet again.

About 88 percent of the sidewalks got a "Clean" rating, while 8 percent got a "Fair" and 4 percent received a "Dirty" rating.

Those numbers are pretty similar to last year and the year before.

Some of the worst sidewalk spots?

  • Pennsylvania Street between New York and Georgia streets
  • Washington Street between Pennsylvania and Illinois streets
  • Ohio Street between Meridian and Delaware streets
  • Delaware Street between North and Washington streets

The best ways to improve downtown's ratings for next year are simple. Throw away your trash into the nearby cans.
