INDIANAPOLIS -- While you may typically see them responding to emergencies in Indianapolis, two public safety agencies gathered at Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday to raise money for public safety.

Before Saturday's Indy Eleven game, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and Indianapolis Fire Department firefighters competed on the field to raise money for the Indy Public Safety Foundation.

A portion of the ticket sales went to the foundation, which will be used to help the departments purchase equipment or fund programs.

"That could be a piece of equipment.  It could be a tool or technique to do their job better," Dane Nutty of Indy Public Safety Foundation said. "An example of that would be the IFD and IMPD explorer programs those are programs for young people who want to be a police officer or a firefighter, but are just not old enough yet."

IFD won against IMPD with a final score of 3-1.
