INDIANAPOLIS — To give one of his officers the day off, IMPD Chief Bryan Roach worked a patrol shift on Thanksgiving this year.
A post on the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's Facebook page says Roach has a tradition that he works patrol on Thanksgiving every year, so an officer can have the day off to be with his family.
For Thanksgiving this year, Roach took the place of an officer on the North District and patrolled the Broad Ripple area.
The photo of Roach has more than 3,000 shares on Facebook.
