INDIANAPOLIS -- As the year winds down Indianapolis police have issued a plea to the public for help in locating three men wanted in connection with three murder cases from 2017.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are searching for Demond Bender, Jeffrey Buckley and Jordan Taber in connection with murders from October, September and June of this year.

Bender, 38 is wanted in connection with the homicide of Philly Alexander on Oct.12. According to the probable cause affidavit, he was angry with Alexander about some synthetic marijuana Alexander had just sold him.
Witnesses heard the shooter yelling at Alexander about a blunt of "Katy" that was supposedly fake, court documents say.
Alexander was shot near the intersection of 10th and Rural streets. He was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries.

Buckley, 43, is wanted in connection with the murder of Kirk Shurill outside of a memorial dinner on September 30.
Shurill, 38, was shot and killed inside a vehicle outside the Persian Temple #46 on East 23rd Street while attending a dinner in honor of KeithWilliams, who was killed in a shooting on Sept. 20 near 10thStreet and Grant Avenue.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case, witnesses told police Shurill was burning out the tires of a vehicle in the Persian Temple’s parking lot to “make smoke for Keith (Williams)” when Buckley walked up to the car and told him he was being disrespectful.
An altercation took place and witnesses heard several shots fired before Buckley placed his hands inside the car and Shurill drove off with him still in the window.
After Shurill crashed the car into an off-duty officer's vehicle, witnesses say they saw Buckley reach in and fire several more shots at Shurill before running off. Shurill was pronounced dead at the scene.

Taber is wanted in connection with the June 4 murder of 19-year-old Fairely Griffie at the Carriage West Apartments on Whitcomb Court.
Officers were called after someone found Griffie suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
