INDIANAPOLIS -- Papa Roux, a locally-owned Cajun restaurant on Indianapolis' east side, will close later this month.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant's owner, Art Bouvier, gave many reasons for the closure.
He cited:
- Problems with Code Enforcement
- Employees who quit, but "tell their corrections officer that they were fired, and then show up and call the police"
- Bread deliveries that don't arrive on time
- New point of sale "upgrades" that cost time and money
- Equipment failures
- Increased taxes and fees
- Having to pay out-of-pocket for fire inspections
- A sudden "hostility" toward small businesses by the town
Papa Roux opened in 2007 at its location at 8950 E. 10th Street.
"We love you, Indy," Bouvier wrote. "We really do. All of you. You are all so near and dear to us, it’s going to hurt to not see you all every day. Some of you literally every day."
The last day for Papa Roux will be Oct. 13.
