INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indiana family won more than $16 million in a Hoosier Lottery jackpot.
An unnamed family claimed the Oct. 14 winnings of $25.5 million, choosing to take a lump sum payment of $16,579,692 before taxes.
Rebecca Geyer accepted the winnings on the family's behalf.
"The family will prioritize using the funds for the benefit of their families and other causes they find important," Geyer said. "The family loves Indiana, and plans to continue living here."
It was the most the family has won, aside from a 50/50 raffle, Geyer said. The family claimed as Mariner Financial LLC.
"The family feels extremely blessed but also overwhelmed," she said. "They have chosen to claim as a legal entity to protect the safety and well-being of their children as well as their own privacy."
Hoosier Lotto jackpot odds are 1 in 9,366,819. Overall Odds are 1 in 6.
