INDIANAPOLIS — The leaves are still falling, but it's time to start picking them up in Marion County.
Fall leaf collection season begins Nov. 12 and will run through Dec. 7.
You are allowed up to 40 bags of leaves per week on your regular trash pick-up day.
Don’t forget, you aren’t allowed to burn leaves in Marion County.
For a small fee, you can take extra leaves to the Citizens Transfer Station at 2324 South Belmont Avenue. The station is open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a fee of $2 per carload and $5 per truckload.
Some leaves collected this year will be composted. The resulting mulch will be available to residents in the spring.
DPW workers collected more than 10 million pounds of leaves in 2016.
