INDIANAPOLIS -- The man killed in a crash early Monday morning on Indianapolis' northwest side was a teacher for Decatur Township schools.

Officers were called to the scene in the 4400 block of Mann Road shortly after midnight after a car crashed into a tree.

Trent Conn, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the car at the time of the crash.

The Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township says Conn was a Gold Academy 6th grade teacher.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time," the district posted on social media.
