MUNCIE, Ind. -- A man is accused of starting a house on fire and threatening police with a gun before he was shot by officers in Muncie last month.

Muncie Police responded to a domestic call involving Gary Mort at a home on North Franklin Street on June 29.

Officers say Mort set the house on fire and then came around from the backyard and pointed a handgun at police.

Officers responding to the scene fired at Mort in response.

Mort is charged with arson and intimidation. He’s currently booked into the Delaware County Jail.
