INDIANAPOLIS -- A security guard at The Fashion Mall at Keystone was injured early Monday morning after burglary suspects crashed a white Nissan through the doors of Saks Fifth Avenue.

Scott Spann with mall security told officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department that he heard a crash around 3 a.m. and saw several men inside the store.

A white Nissan with Illinois plates had been deliberately driven into Saks. According to police, the car is registered to Hertz rentals.

Spann went around the building and saw six men running out of the store. He was knocked down and injured his right arm.

The men got into a red Ford SUV or a Cadillac Escalade, and a white 4-door sedan, according to Spann.

Officers have not said how much was stolen from Saks.

The mall opened at noon Monday instead of the usual 10 a.m.

In the past 30 days, IMPD reports there have been 14 thefts, three car break-ins and one burglary (this incident) within a .5-mile radius of The Fashion Mall.
