NORTH SPLIT CLOSURE
Some recurring weekend closures on a major downtown ramp to the interstate might cause some headaches for the next five weekends.
This is all happening to repair damage that was sustained in a fiery crash back in April.
Starting Friday night at 9 o-clock, the westbound I-70 ramp to southbound I-65 will be closed, continuing until Monday at 6 in the morning.
During the time of the closure, you should take the parallel collector-distributor ramp to Michigan Street, Ohio Street, and Fletcher Avenue as an alternate route.
But here's the kicker, that detour will also be restricted, as during this time, the left lame of that collector-distributor ramp will be closed, but you can use the right lane to continue on and access southbound I-65 and westbound I-70.
Again, this begins Friday night at 9-o-clock and will reopen Monday morning at 6-o-clock and will happen for about 5 weeks.
So be patient and give yourself some extra time, especially since the detour has lane restrictions.
I-70 PLAINFIELD AREA RESTRICTIONS
If you live in or around Plainfield or are planning on heading through that area this weekend, you'll definitely want to take a listen to this traffic alert.
Starting Friday night at 9-o-clock and continuing until Monday at 6–o-clock in the morning, the right lanes of Ronald Reagan/Ameriplex Parkway will be closed at the bridge over I-70.
At the same time, the eastbound I-70 exit ramp (which is exit 68A) to northbound Ronald Reagan Parkway and the westbound I-70 exit ramp (which is exit 68) to southbound Ameriplex Parkway will be closed.
But good news for those catching flights: all access will remain open to the Indianapolis International Airport.
So, if you plan to head through Plainfield this weekend, just pay attention and be aware of any closures that could derail your travels.
