Since 2009, Warren Township athletic teams have raised more than $30,000 for cancer research.
Friday morning on Good Morning Indiana, students, cheerleaders, the school band and the dance teams revved up for the big matchup against Ben Davis high school, Warren Central’s rival.
But before they took to the stands, leaders of the ‘pit’ student section sold bandanas, cowbells, and other fan items to their classmates to help raise money for the cause.

There have been activities throughout the week to help with fundraising efforts and tonight is the last push. The hope is that after the home eastside versus westside rivalry game, they’ll have raised at least $6,000.
That money will be donated to Susan G. Komen, the Son Foundation for Skin Cancer Research and a few Warren Central families with loved ones battling cancer.
