INDIANAPOLIS — Multiple bystanders broke into a crashed vehicle to help a woman who had a medical emergency while driving Thursday morning.
The woman crashed into a newsstand near the intersection of Ohio Street and Capitol Avenue at about 11:40 a.m.
After the crash, the woman was unconscious behind the wheel, said Reuben Pero, who helped get into the vehicle. He and a few other people used nearby construction equipment to break a window to the car, stop the engine, and check on the woman.
Pero said once the woman woke up, she seemed to be OK.
"Just at the right place at the right time," he said.
